THE Jubilee Officials in Nyanza region have reiterated that they are still waiting for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour of the region which has been now postponed twice.

The officials led by Jubilee Leaders in Nyanza Chairman Yusuf Ooro Odongo said they are still optimist that the Head of State will visit the region as planned, adding that they have been eagerly waiting for his tour of the region to inspect and initiate some development projects.

Speaking to the press at a restaurant near Mamboleo Junction, Ooro said the officials have been camping in Kisumu for the past one week while awaiting for the arrival of the President, adding that they were also in waiting last week to receive the Head of State which was to visit the region but the visit was postponed today on Thursday this week but also failed to come.

He said the officials will be camping in Kisumu City while spending nights until the Head of State will visit the region.

Ooro who is also the TNA Coordinator said the President will be purely visiting Nyanza region on development purposes.

He said the Jubilee Fraternity in Nyanza region is very much ready to welcome the President during his visit in Nyanza region, adding that the residents of Nyanza region should turn up in large numbers so as to welcome the Head of State.

He told off the opposition party especially some ODM Party MPs from the region who have tried to say that they were given short notice on the President’s intention to visit the region especially Kisumu, Siaya and Homa Bay Counties.

“Some of these MPs from Nyanza region who says that they be given more time to consult as far as the President’s tour of Nyanza region is concerned should know that they do not hold a key to such visits by the Head of State,” Ooro said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was set to visit the Three Counties this week on Wednesday but the visit has since been postponed to next week on Thursday.

Ooro said the President mean well for this Nation including Nyanza, adding that recently the Head of State visited Migori County and sugarcane farmers benefited from funds the Government paid for them owed to them by the Sugar Factories.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was set to visit three Counties in Nyanza namely Kisumu, Siaya and Homa Bay with an aim of commissioning development projects this week but the visit has been postponed once again.

However, a section of leaders in Kisumu County have said they were given short notice hence needed more time to consult on which areas of the County should the Head of State visit during his tour of the region.

The President last Month visited Migori County where a section of the Youth who were attending his rally at Migori Primary school heckled the area Governor Okoth Obado in the presence of the President forcing the Head of State to cut short his speech.
