JUBILEE OFFICIALS IN NYANZA URGES PRESIDENT UHURU TO VISIT THE REGION.

JUBILEE Representatives in Nyanza Region has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to immediately visit Nyanza Region as scheduled next Week on Thursday.

Led by the Chairman of Jubilee Leaders in Nyanza Yusuf Ooro Odongo, the officials said President Uhuru Kenyatta has all the rights to visit any part of the Country without any restrictions as the Head of State and the Government.
Addressing the press in Kisumu, Ooro who is also the TNA Coordinator said the President will be purely visiting Nyanza region on development purposes.

He said the Jubilee Fraternity in Nyanza region is very much ready to welcome the President during his next week’s visit in Nyanza region, adding that the residents of Nyanza region should turn up in large numbers so as to welcome the Head of State.
He told off the opposition party especially some ODM Party MPs from the region who have tried to say that they were given short notice on the President’s intention to visit the region especially Kisumu, Siaya and Homa Bay Counties.

He said President Uhuru’s visit to the region has nothing to do with politics hence should not be politicized at all.

“We want to tell those MPs from the opposition Party that the President’s visit in Nyanza region should not be politicized and the Head of State should come and bring any development which his national Government should bring in these Counties,” Ooro said.

Ooro blamed constant bad politics for Nyanza region of not realizing good development with the past regimes, adding that there is need to revive collapsed factories like Kisumu Cotton Mill{KICOMI},Miwani Sugar Factory among others.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was set to visit the Three Counties this week on Wednesday but the visit has since been postponed to next week on Thursday.
Ooro said the President mean well for this Nation including Nyanza, adding that recently the Head of State visited Migori County and sugarcane farmers benefitted from funds the Government paid for them owed to them by the Sugar Factories.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was set to visit three Counties in Nyanza namely Kisumu, Siaya and Homa Bay with an aim of commissioning development projects this week but the visit has been pushed to next week on Thursday.

However, a section of leaders in Kisumu County have said they were given short notice hence needed more time to consult on which areas of the County should the Head of State visit during his tour of the region.

The President last Month visited Migori County where a section of the Youth who were attending his rally at Migori Primary school heckled the area Governor Okoth Obado in the presence of the President forcing the Head of State to cut short his speech.

The Migori County Governor Okoth Obado later ferried a delegation of over 300 people to apologize to President Uhuru in Nairobi where they indeed apologized to the Head of State who later pardoned those Youth who were earlier arrested in connection to the heckling.

Same sentiment urging President Kenyatta to visit Nyanza region has been echoed by the Nyanza Council of Church Leaders Chairman Bishop Dr. Washington Ogonyo Ngede and the the Kisumu County Vice Chair of the Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industry Getrude Owiny.

KISUMU COUNTY ASSEMBLY ADJOURNS INDEFINITELY AS SPEAKER TAKES MACE TO POLICE STATION.

BUSINESS Operations at the Kisumu County Assembly has been paralyzed after its Speaker Ann Adul yesterday adjourned it indefinitely.

Following the move, the fate of the Finance Bill now hangs in the limbo because it has not been passed into law with the deadline being yesterday {Tuesday}.

On Tuesday this week, Kisumu County Assembly Speaker Ann Adul indefinitely adjourned the operations of the county Assembly after a serious disagreement occurred following a move by some MCAs who wanted to bring in a motion seeking to dissolve the County Assembly Public Service Board.

In a strange twist of events, the Assembly’s Mace which is the sole symbol of Authority at the County Assembly has been taken by the Speaker Ann Adul to the Kisumu Central Police Station in unclear circumstance, a move that a number of MCAs led by the Majority Party Leader has vehemently condemned terming it as ill-advised.

However, a section of more than 30 MCAs led its Majority Leader Samwel Ong’ou out the total 49 MCAs has dismissed the move as illegal and maintained that there is no such reports in its Yesterday’s  Hansard records about the indefinite adjournment of  the Kisumu County Assembly by the Speaker.

“We have been taken by a surprise after one of the officers at the Kisumu County Assembly’s Clerk officer informed some of the MCAs that the Speaker had directed that there is no season today {Wednesday} and proper reasons for this has not been given,” Ong’ou said in a press briefing after attending today’s session at County Assembly without the Speaker or her Deputy.

He said the MCAs who were in attendance decided to seat at the Assembly as a committee of the Whole House, adding that they summoned the Chief Sergeant at-Arm to explain how the mace was taken to the Police Station.

The MCAs who were present also resolve to investigate the office of the Speaker on how the Mace was taken to the Police Station, adding that they also want clear explanation on what the police and the Speaker were doing at the County Assembly at night.

He added that they have also suspended the Acting Clerk to the County Assembly in line with the disappearance of the Mace from the County Assembly.

On the other hand, a group of MCAs allied to the Speaker led by Deputy Speaker Pamela Apondi Omino said the problem started when the County Assembly begun to summon County Executive Members so as to shade more light on various issues.

They said the entire scenario revolves around the Supremacy battle among some leaders at the Kisumu County.

They said even if the County Assembly Public Service Board was to be removed there is laid down regulations on its removal.

They claimed a serious division is there among the Members of the County Assembly Public Service Board, claiming that the Leader of Majority Samwel Ong’ou is not ready to work with other Board Members to execute its mandate well.

They called on the Governor Jack Ranguma to come up and help bringing all the leaders of the Kisumu County together.

CHURCH LEADERS, BUSINESS PEOPLE APPEALS TO RESIDENTS OF NYANZA TO WELCOME PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA.

MEMBERS of the Clergy in Nyanza Region have appealed to the residents within the region to warmly welcome President Uhuru Kenyatta during his official visit scheduled next week.

The Clergy under the Banner of Nyanza Council of Church Leaders said Residents of various Counties where President Kenyatta is set to visit should be ready to receive the Head of State and his entourage when visit them next week.

Speaking on behalf of the Nyanza church leaders at his office in Kisumu, the Council’s Chairman Bishop Dr. Washington Ogonyo Ngede said the Head of State will be visiting the Nyanza region purely on Development matters where he will be commissioning various development projects within the various counties he will be visiting.

The Chairman praised the residents of Nyanza region as peace loving people and further appealed to them to maintain peace and tranquility during and after the Head of State’s official visit in the region.

“The President as the Head of State and Government has a right to visit any part of the country anytime he feels like and whenever he does such visits, the residents should welcome him warmly.

Same sentiments were also echoed by the Vice Chair of the Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Kisumu County Getrude Owiny who said the residents should give a warm welcome to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Owiny said the Business Community in Kisumu welcomes the Head of State’s next week visit in Kisumu County.

She urged President Uhuru’s Jubilee Government to help in the revival of the collapsed industries like Kisumu Cotton Mill{KICOMI} Miwani Sugar Factory among others so as to help in the creation of employment.

UPROAR AS STRIP CLUBS IN KISUMU RECRUIT SCHOOL GIRLS IN EXOTIC DANCE

RESIDENTS of Kisumu have raised red flag over the increasing number of   stripping business in town as club owners shop for underage exotic dancers.

School going girls turned strippers drawn from secondary schools and colleges within Kisumu town including Maseno University have taken the lakeside town by storm after they opted for serious pole-dancing as an avenue of getting extra pocket money.

The famous signature club and it’s fierce rival Buccaneers both strategically located stone throw away from lake Victoria have been put on the spotlight after it emerged that they recruit underage girls who are out to do all manner of activities in exchange of money.

Both joints remain crowded every day as strippers give guys special attention though those privy to the strip dancing business would recommend Fridays and Saturdays  that have assumed the name Kamasutra nights.

A furious group of youth led by Kisumu TNA activist James Kirunda has threatened to storm regional governor’s office should the governor Jack Raguma fail to intervene and stop the trend with immediate effect.

‘It’s alarming that our young girls are turning into strippers with full blessings of the governors office and as concerned youth who are out to see sanity in Kisumu we are petitioning the governor to take quick action before we stage a serious demonstration’’, Kirunda posed.

The young strippers have equally received continuers warning from their older counterparts who have accused them of ‘spoiling the business’ given that most clients prefer the seriousness and vigour they apply while performing as opposed to their rival old guards who are weak on stage.

Signature Club took the earliest opportunity to conquer the stripping business in Kisumu before its success saw the entrance of its only rival Buccaneers in a business that was first introduced in Kenya by Apple beez, the ultimate Nairobi’s top strip club. 

Just like any other strip Club, twin Strip clubs in Kisumu are known for loud music and a customer has to shout to order drink apart from observing dressing code for male clients.

Recently this writer while on a fact finding mission was met with a rude shock when security guards at Buccaneers denied him entry for turning up in ‘akala’, traditional slippers.

KISUMU COUNTY WOMEN REPRESENTATIVE PROTESTS RAILA KWALE UGLY INCIDENT

KISUMU county Women representative Rose Nyamunga has come out gun blazing condemning an ugly incident in which ex-premier Raila Odinga was caned by an elderly man in Kwale for allegedly dancing with the man’s wife.

Nyamunga rubbished claims that the elderly man who attacked Raila and Kwale governor Salim Mvurya was a mad person.

The elderly man was stopped and whisked away by security guards but only after he managed to beat the two politicians.

Nyamunga ruled out already advanced excuses including a claim that the old man was a known mad person in the region and questioned why he only managed to settle on the two leaders in such a packed gathering.

The women leader has also differed with governor Mvurya on his attempts to downplay things by stating that it was within their culture for such crude actions to be meted on leaders during such occasions.

‘ Theirs is nothing like culture in this matter, many leaders including former heads of state visited the region and they were never treated to such embarrassing moments and again the former PM could have been informed in advance if it was true it’s a cherished culture within the community’’, Nyamunga pointed out.

She called on the government to consider beefing up CORD leader’s security saying it was wrong for the government to act negatively on matters to do with security.

The rally, which was attended by ODM officials, was interrupted by the incident but was hurriedly sorted out the man being guarded to ensure he does not spin out of control, again.
